Profile: Bryan McCabe was selected 50th overall in the inaugural DHHL draft by the Denver Dwarves. One of the few players in the league to play his entire career for one franchise, he quickly became a fixture in Denver's top set of bluliners. From this position, he became one of the highest scoring defensemen in league history.

He was also very responsible defensively. While he only received one Norris Trophy vote in his career, many observers feel that McCabe was the best defenseman in the league during his 12 season career. McCabe was one of those rare players who could go out in any game situation, the PP, the PK, down or up by a goal with less than a minute remaining. He was a quintessential professional.

A steady scorer throughout his career, McCabe scored 704 points in 931 career games. Bryan was a huge part of the Dwarves Cup runs in both DHHL5 and DHHL7. From the blueline, McCabe had 43 points or more in every season in his career with the exception of his rookie season in DHHL1 when he had a career low 36 points. His DHHL3 season is still one remembered by man as a status point for defenseman, having potted 27 goals and 89 points in that season.

After the DHHL12 season, in which he netted 53 points including 11 goals, McCabe elected to retire and was named on 14 of the 16 ballots cast and was inducted into the DHHL Hall of Fame on his first attempt. He is a defenseman that young players try to emulate to this day.
