These charts have been created to help with further research in Ireland (County Antrim?). The first chart below is based on the ages shown on the various censuses and burial records and the second chart shows the naming of parents on the marriage records. You will note that there is a 35 year age span between Patrick, the eldest born 1801 and Mary, the youngest born 1836. The parents names also vary from ceremony to ceremony. I wonder if there weren't two spouses for Murtagh and therefore two families. It could be that instead of being siblings they are actually cousins??? There is also some confusion with the naming of Sarah Nettleton as the mother of Sarah and Mary when she is also named as the mother of Henry & Charles.

1.   Alice to Germain Poirier -- The marriage record has not been found so I estimated 1845 based on the baptism of the first child, Amable, 31 Jan 1847. That record shows the mother's name as Alice Byrn with the godparents Bernard Byrn and Mary Cahill. On the 3rd child Catherine's baptism, 25 August 1850, the godparents are Joseph Bergeron and Catherine Byrn. I have a letter on file from a granddaughter of Alice saying that Alice was the sister of George (my great-grandfather). Alice's birth year also comes into question her as her last child Sarah Jane was born in 1857. If Alice was 40 when her last child was born, her birth year was likely 1817 with her being married at age 28. 2.    Shows as Bartholemy Byrn son of Murtagh Byrn & Sarah Grier. Other records show Bernard. 3.    Mary Burns: on the burial record in 1907, her name is given as Mary Byrns. 4.    I have also found two other Burns' in the same time period, Ann (or Mary Ann) who married Patrick Masterson and Bridget Burns who married John B. (Jean Baptiste) Boucher, but I have not found their marriage records for proof of parentage and there are no Burns's as witnesses for baptisms so they are not being included in my descendants chart.
