About the Labour Force Profile

The Sudbury HRCC Area (of service) Labour Force Profile looks at the supply side of the labour force as described in our definition of LMI. It is created by looking at the characteristics of the population and those in the labour force.

That includes the population breakdown by age, sex, education, income, etc. It also includes the labour force breakdown by sex, occupation, industry, etc.

The information for the profile is taken largely from two reports produced by the Sudbury HRCC LMI Unit. The first is the annual HRCC Area Profile. The second is the monthly Newsletter which updates several elements of the Profile on an ongoing basis.

That information is augmented by information from Statistics Canada's monthly Labour Force Survey which tracks the employment (and unemployment) situation in Canada.
